Real Questions We Hear From Patients On

Elbow Pain / Cubital Tunnel

1.Why are my pinky and ring fingers numb?

Numbness in the ring and pinky fingers often points to irritation of the ulnar nerve, which travels along the inside of the elbow and into the hand.

2.Is my elbow causing my hand problems?

It can be. Nerve symptoms in the hand sometimes originate higher up the arm where the nerve passes through the elbow or forearm.

3.What is cubital tunnel syndrome?

Cubital tunnel syndrome occurs when the ulnar nerve becomes compressed at the inside of the elbow. This can cause numbness, tingling, weakness, or hand discomfort.

4.Can cubital tunnel syndrome get worse if ignored?

Yes. Over time, untreated nerve compression can lead to worsening symptoms and even muscle weakness in the hand.

5.When should I think about surgery?

Surgery may be recommended when symptoms continue despite conservative treatment or when weakness or muscle changes develop.

The right diagnosis changes everything. If you’re still searching for answers, the team at Neuropax is here to help.

Still wondering what might be causing your pain?

Many patients who come to Neuropax have already seen multiple doctors and tried several treatments without success. In some cases, persistent pain may be coming from an irritated or compressed peripheral nerve that hasn’t been identified yet.

If you’re still searching for answers, a peripheral nerve evaluation may help uncover the source of your pain.
